About this workshop:
In this workshop, we explore three ways in which mindfulness can be applied in service of equity and belonging. Through guided meditation and an exercise, you are invited to apply mindfulness in reflection about personal behavior patterns that may reinforce - or challenge - social inequities.

Who is this workshop for?

This session may be for you if…

  • You are curious to learn ways mindfulness can be developed to intentionally support a culture of equity and belonging

  • You appreciate participating in guided meditation supporting compassion

  • You appreciate self-reflection activities for building self-awareness

  • You would like to connect with other people who share these interests

Purpose

Learn ways in which mindfulness can be applied in service of equity and belonging

Learning objectives

  1. Increase self-awareness about harmful behavior patterns that signal “power-over” others and perpetuate a culture of inequities and exclusion

  2. Strengthen mindful compassion practice for more positive relationships

  3. Cultivate mindfulness of needs for relational skills that support “power-with” others in a culture of equity and belonging

We hope you’ll join us for this rich, interactive exploration!
