About this workshop:
In this workshop, we explore three ways in which mindfulness can be applied in service of equity and belonging. Through guided meditation and an exercise, you are invited to apply mindfulness in reflection about personal behavior patterns that may reinforce - or challenge - social inequities.

Learning objectives

  1. Increase self-awareness about harmful behavior patterns that signal “power-over” others and perpetuate a culture of inequities and exclusion

  2. Strengthen mindful compassion practice for more positive relationships 

  3. Cultivate mindfulness of needs for relational skills that support “power-with” others in a culture of equity and belonging
