Supplies to Gather

  • A laptop or tablet and a stable internet connection to attend via Zoom
  • Sitting supplies (cushion, bench, pillow, or chair)
  • Yoga mat (or rug or carpet)
  • Blanket (optional)
  • Water bottle with water
  • Pre-prepared lunch (so you don't have to think about what to eat when lunch rolls around); making a lunch that you will especially enjoy is recommended

Suggestions for Setup

  • Reflect on your intention before setting up.
  • Find or designate a space in your home where you will not be disturbed by friends or family (to the best of your ability). Clean the room and remove distractions such as books, computers or additional electronic equipment to promote a space that allows for calm and peace of mind. 
  • Communicate to friends/family your intentions to engage in the retreat and maintain silence for the day and ask for their support.
  • Silence notifications and close other applications on your device to limit/remove digital distractions.
  • Turn your phone off and leave it in another room. 
  • If you typically wear a watch, leave it in another room. Remove any clocks from your space that will be tempting to look at. 
  • Hide the clock from your computer's menu bar.
